Whole New World

Hello, and welcome to my travel blog! I can't promise too much, because a) I'm not a seasoned "traveler," per say, or one of those kids who always lists traveling as an interest and can use an entire Office Max's worth of thumbtacks tracking where they've been on maps, but I do like to have fun, so if nothing else there will probably be lots of tales of trying to find Tina Fey outside of Rockefeller Center and eating way too much chocolate marzipan pastries on Gustavus Adolphus Day; and b) I'm really lazy and constantly forget to post. Point in case: I've been here for three weeks and just bothered to finish designing the blog. So, I have a lot of catching up to do on posts. Good thing I have all gosh-darned (parents read this blog so we're keeping it PG (Prince George?)) day to do so since I am waiting for the UPS man/lady to deliver my Swedish Grammar book, and over my dead body will it be returned to sender again. I forgot that packages can't magically be transported through your door.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy, and if you'd like a postcard from any of my various locations over the next year, send me an email, I'll be happy to oblige (I love snail mail). Also, a shout out to my dad, THaack, for the name of the blog. My parents' nickname for me when I was a baby/little kid was Peanut, and then when I showed the first signs of angst and sass it became Teen Peanut, and ever since they've been switching out the adjectives for every situation and stage of my life. THaack even translated it to Swedish: svensk jordnot. He emailed me one day asking me about insurance information or study abroad deposits or subletting inquiries something important I was forgetting to do and generally not taking seriously enough, TYPICAL, and he titled the email "To the Peripatetic Peanut," and my first reaction was "my dad could not be more weird" followed by "hey, blog title!" So, there you have it, folks. Enjoy the blog. Also, I enabled commenting that doesn't require you to have a Google or Blogger account, so leave little love notes!
